From History to Ourstory

History is full of women, people of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and other underrepresented groups who have made their mark in history; however, historical teachings have been branded in a way that paints the under-represented as the under-achieving, and that’s simply not true. There are a lot of misconceptions that white, straight men are the founding fathers of our technology, our democracy, our medicine, and so many other things. We want to give credit where credit is due. History is just not His Story; and we are on a mission to make it OURstory.

CJ Dearing (they/them) is a non-binary, genderqueer millennial, as well as neurodivergent. In addition to podcasting and audio editing, they work full-time as a copywriter and editor.

After coming out and no longer drinking, CJ realized how society has misled entire generations into believing that people who are different should be silent and invisible. Everything should be pushed under the rug, and as a result, important history was pushed under the rug. This podcast allows them to pull out the dust bunnies and show the world that diverse communities should be loud, visible, and proud.

CJ's dream is to open a B&B in Ireland and record podcasts remotely.
